the scene, as a pictorial mass has its own dress in its individual color) or as Hokusais prints: [[underlined]] Pictorial Color [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] pictorial mind-state [[/underlined]]. We all paint as we think or feel: submissive, or pedantic, or sentimental, or longing, or painful, or timid, or conventional and fashioned, or dreamy, or energetic; scientific; experimental; etc. I will put down this: [[underlined]] For "that" I care, to hell with the rest! [[/underlined]] It is in the [[underlined]] reality [[/underlined]] of what I see, in things and conditions, of weather and life; right here; but, where I care to go; in "so I would rather have it arranged" to look powerful, true;" in such pigments as I care for: few, powerful, pure. In strong rhythms, like music coming from a freed soul, which is now one with a few similar things or effects: the sunlight and the Sun himself, which commands things to be white, rose, yellow, red; with the pure clear blue sky, varied to green or white; with the earth under my feet; earthy, hard yellow or soft green in spring, or blue violet in shadow, with the barrier of rose or violet horizon or hills; with rivers running in strong blue and white; with the patches of red, white, green etc houses and engineering work that man has to appropriate the land or water; These things, in their line, color, rhythm of arrangement say something or sound an expression whenever they are united in a [[underlined twice]] new [[/underlined twice]] [[underlined]] pictorial impression [[/underlined]]: To sing out the colors, loud, clear, strong; tone after tone; wandering alone; having gone, never to go back; being one with the colors under a strong Sun, all around, at any hour of the day, night, season. -
