I posed for my papa. Dr. Whittridge and Mrs. Haywood both called on us at different times in the after-noon. I washed Theano: [[(Thous?.)]] We got a letter from Arthur Carey.

Very hot. Aunt Kate and Mary Riffley ^[[8.]] drove over from Keene to see us. I took a walk ^[[in the woods]] with Gretchen Osgood in the after-noon. I waded twice.

We had a hard thunderstorm in ^[[the]] morning. Nelly's sister and Josie came: he waded in the lake in the after-noon.
