Yield after steaming: 200 lbs. 22.00 | 200/11 or about 11 cents per lb.
I think the yield is too small and the steaming has been carried too far. It will be necessary to determine all this in laboratory with given quantities.

are from 4 lbs. to 4 1/2 lbs of shellac for one gallon of wood alcohol and that Novalak is made by dissolving about 5 lbs. per gallon.
This would mean 450 X 5 = 2250  for 3800 cc or about 225 ga. Novalak dissolved in 380 c.c. wood alcohol. I spoke to Mr. Hooper about improving elasticity of solution by the addition of compound B. He tells me they can afford to use acetone which does not cost them much more than wood alcohol.
In the afternoon 5 P.M. took steamer "Western States" for Buffalo. Not so well equipped as "Northland" yet a very
