until now what charming flowers there are along Connecticut shores.  Everything went to perfection. and we arrived in the afternoon about 4.PM at Grove Beach where the Baskervilles

were awaiting us.  A very agreeable hospitality Children seem to like their new surroundings.  
Pretty little grove near fine swimming beach.
Aug 11. In the afternoon we drove to New London. Many automobiles.  Some excellent road and some very bad ones but was a pretty and interesting landscape.  Stretch beyond Lyme Ferry

through woods is a rather difficult road. rutty and uneven.   Would make difficult job in rainy weather.  Came home at about 7 PM in excellent condition.

Aug 12 at 9:30 A.M. Baskerville myself and Lewis started off homeward.  Magnificent weather and everything ran to perfection.  Took lunch at Newhaven at Morey's an old known student's Inn.  At 3 P.M. left Baskerville at Bridgeport from where
