took lunch at 4 P.M. then hurried to Belmont & finished dictating report Spiegelberg at 6:30 P.M. Arrived home after supper. Very tired.
Sunday Sept. 15. Bright sunny day. Worked all day in laboratory on Bakalite
Sept 16. Answered letter to Hooper about Novolak. Expressed two new samples of "Corrector."

Expressed chlorinated petroleum to Paulies to use in aluminum leaders of experimental anode. Worked all day in laboratory
Sept 17. A hot sunny but sultry day  All day in lab. Evening went with George to the Primary election.
Sept 18. Received letter from Rachel dated Sept 8. complaining my check

had not arrived.  My letter went on Sept 3d. Worked all day in lab.
Sept 20. Went to New York early. At office of Develop & Funding Co from 11 to 1 then from 4 to 6:30 charge 2/3 day with Pellew.

Pellew tells me that he has a patent for making SnCl4, 5H20 by treating Sn under water with HCl in presence of catalytic agent preferably a mercury salt or mercury, and desire to know where he can obtain chlorine.
Took him to supper afterwards at Mouquin down town and outlined to him a method for reprecipitating fatty acid from darkened soap solution of silk dyers so as to reclaim fatty acids & bleach at the same time. My method consists in heating the solution with chlorine.  The chlorine will,
