   Would you like me to tell you something about the Exhibitions here - That called the Counter exhibition is just closed, - perhaps the most remarkable pictures it contained were some landscapes by the two

young Linnells - mixtures of their fathers style with pre. Raphaelition or whatever you choose to call it -  they were very ugly but exceedingly true in a narrow sense of the word -
   At the British Institution there is an average Collection - I will say nothing about the bad pictures.  - the good are few, ^[[three]] landscapes by Tom Danby; Dawson, & Dillon are the best in the collection - 
   Some interiors by [[P?]] are at least equal to Ortade or [[Temers ?]] - they are very perfect things - perhaps [[?]] [[Border Span ?]] is the best
