My dear Mr Clark

I received your note yesterday I was very glad to hear from you.  I intended to have written you during September but found I had lost your address.  I have been very hard at work all summer  I have painted some very good pictures; two in particular which I wish you could have seen before anybody else as I think they are both generally good: one I call "The Glory of Spring" an East Hampton Apple orchard in full bloom against a deep blue sky
