THURSDAY, MAY 22, 1862.

Started down the river and reached Cairo about five o'clock P.M. where we lay till night, then started up the Ohio.

FRIDAY 23

Woke up at Paducah where we stayed till 10 o'clock then went up the Tennessee River. Passed Ft. Henry in the afternoon, slight rain. - [[facial doodle]]

SATURDAY 24

Laid up last night which was dark and foggy. Making good time but rain poured several times. [[boat doodle, assumed]]

SUNDAY, MAY 25, 1862.

Laid up last night and started early [[crossed out "this morning"]] about noon landed at Hamburg landing, 5 miles above Pittsburg landing 320 miles from Cape Girardeau, lost my knapsack with last years diary [[frowning facial doodle]]

MONDAY 26

Marched 16 miles towards Corinth, reached the lines late in the afternoon. [[lineal sketch]]
