Sunday, September 7, 1862.
Troops passing all last night and today. Another order to march countermanded. Expecting to march any moment all day
Troops passing all day.-

Monday 8
Revelle at 1 A.M. March at 5 A.M. stopped for half an hour every mile. passed through Nashville and crossed the Cumberland river  5 miles.

Tuesday 9
Sketched Nashville. the long roll was beating and the regiment got under arms, but did not move. The 88th marched out a few miles and marched back again.

Wednesday, September 10, 1862.
Was detailed to act as a clerk for Lieut. Learson Brigade Comisary. The regiment went on Picket.

Thursday 11

Marched 4 A.M. north. A terrible storm overtook us on the road and the column had to halt.  Camped about midnight.  Marched 14 miles.

Friday 12
Marched at [[?P.M]] rained through Knoxville Marched 15 miles, camped at [[?]] at [[Tyren?]] Springs.  A wagon of the 15th Wis. fell off a slick embankment in the mountains and severely injured several men.
