Friday, September 19, 1862 [[image face]]
Started at daybreak and marched 6 miles very slowly met 4000 furlowed prisoners taken to Bragg last Sunday. Our cavaly took a train and [[400?]] ]prisoners, camped at Prewitts Knob.--[[image face]] 

Saturday 20
In camp at Prewitts Knob.  Ordered to cook 3 days rations.

Sunday 21 
At daylight the troops moved forward 2 miles at noon the train followed. Bragg evacuated his position at [[?]] River Bridge after delaying the brigade, Evening started [image man marching]] in pursuit, marched all night

Monday, September 22, 1862.
At daylight camped at Horse Cave. Marched again at 5 P.M. and marched all night [[image?]]
We advanced and took the rear of the rebels and had a skirmish.

Tuesday 23
Stopped a few minutes for breakfast[[image face]] and started again. The road was lined with  citizens who express a strong union sentiment. Stopped half an hour in the afternoon and then Marched until 11 A.M. camped at Elizabethtown [[Wednesday 24 written under from Tuesday 23]] 20 miles from Horse Cave.

Wednesday 24
Trains and Troops passing all day.
After dark started and marched all night. [strike through]] camped at day by [[?]] [[?]]21 miles [[strikethrough]] Took a swim in the Ohio.
