concluded to go on Monday to New Haven to see how the light house at that place would answer for experiments  Also called again to see Mr Bache.
Started for Long Branch to spend Sunday with my friend Harry Alexander
Mr Rhees paid salaries today

At Long Branch change of air delightful - church in the morning rested in the afternoon
Engaged Mr Alexanders second son to make observations on the temperature of the water and air.
Encroachment of the ocean on the bank 40 feet in 7 years
Mr Leederly suggests wing walls at right angles to the line of the coast
