I had gleaned from [[strikethrough]] our [[/strikethrough]] the Valland conversations and [[strikethrough]] list some [/strikethrough]] [[inserted]] less meaningful [[end insertion]] lists of [[inserted]][[strikethrough]] undecipherable word possibly uncorroborated [[/strikethrough]][[end insertion]] names collected by SHAEF. [[strike through]] MFA & A [[/strikethrough]] Other information supplied by Valland had become so innmasculated [[sic]] in long lists in which untrustworthy or unreliable sources were quoted side by side [[insertion]] with Valland's material [[end insertion]] that I [strikethrough]] could scarcely recognize the would [[/strikethrough]] might never have recognized their importance [[strikethrough]] of some of the facts [[/strikethrough]] if I had not learned [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] the Valland revelations first hand. [[strikethrough]] I saw photo [[/strikethrough]] Photographs of the [[inserted]] confiscated Paris [/insertion]] collections of [[trikethrough]] conf [[/strikethrough]] works of art [[strikethrough]] to just be confiscated and [[/strikethrough]] brought to the Jeu de Paume were among other valuable documents we poured over that night. It was getting late. There was only one important question [[strikethrough]] the real question [[/strikethrough]] which remained unanswered. Where were the works of art [[insertion]] hidden [[end insertion]] [[strikethrough]] indecipherable word [[/strikethrough]] in Germany? I was shown the photograph of two castles at Tüssen on the Bavarian border; they were Neuschwanstein and Hohen schwangau. "There and at Buxheim I am certain will be found [[strikethrough]] would [[/strikethrough]] their records and all the works of art taken from France by the Nazis." "How can you be sure," I asked, "you weren't in Germany?"
"Here, James, these two photographs are for you. They show you where you will find what you have been looking for. I will give this same information to SHAEF but I count on you to get these and save our treasures before the Nazis can destroy them." [[Take] my advice. [[written in margin:]] What I tell you is based on more than a woman's intuition.
