Dear Margie:
I've not written for four days - a field trip and every hour used up. I picked up a little more plunder for Tommy. The bottle neck is wrapping and packaging materials. His helmet is still waiting for those, and I'm sorry about the delay.
Your splendid letter of 19 March was waiting here when I got back this evening and with it Tom's, equally splendid, of the 13th. His ease and skill in writing are showing great progress. I will answer him soon.
And so I know that Bob has been at home on a short leave, and is well and expects to be at Newport for some time yet. I should like to hear from him and to know somewhat more about the technicalities of what he is doing. I wonder if Radar is going to be his cup of tea. You still have not told me his grade.
It pleases me greatly to hear that Jeanne and Slim have been at our house. They're prime persons, with superior qualities.
