The clear liquid on evaporation gave residue of light color of some meat extract taste and odor but nothing much more favorable than plain yeast digested with NuCl at high temperatures.

April 7  [[/margin]] Delayed on construction work on account of sashes not here.  With Jim & Joe made another run of Solid A in afternoon.  Had trouble on account of pan being coated inside with thick layer of B.  Had to work in dark with lanterns in old barn.  Got through at 8 P.M.  Fearful windstorm.  Roar as if several trains were passing.  Had to get up during night to fasten windows.  Tower of Presbyterian Church blown over.  several buildings under construction blown over in Yonkers.
