When I went to the station I was escorted by the whole bunch -- about thirty.  marching like soldiers and singing their Bakelite song.  While waiting for the train the same song went on uninterrupted.  Took the midnight train which gave me in Buffalo transfer to train which arrived here next day in Yonkers at about 1 P.M.
May 9 
Things had grown very much since I was away and I found all trees and shrubs green and some of the Rhodondendrons in blossom.  this is indeed a beautiful restful spot. Armstrong

had done some progress with the gabel of my lab and one pillar of gate was up and cement floor is laid.  I see that my attempts at architecture are not so bad.  
Found a stack of letters.  Felt rather tired ^and very nervous^ and went to bed early.

May 10  A rather sultry day. Spent most of day dictating letters among which my agreement for Canadian license.  Once in awhile went to see progress of work in lab.  [[underlined]] Thurlow [[/underlined]] was very nervous and irritable says cannot sleep and has some [[sulfonal?]].  I do not see why he should get that way  Gave him batch of A to finish to dissolved A but
