Evening Banquet in Crystal Park.  Quite a mix up for accommodation.  Toch Mrs. B. Dr. & Mrs. Byrnes & Baskerville, Celine and myself tried to find place.  Met Dr. [[underlined]] Oscar Blank [[/underlined]] for first time.  was not favorably impressed with his heavy watery pale head.  Mixing up of our seats.  Finally got all seats together near estrade.  [[underlined]] Schweitzer [[/underlined]] had managed to sit at extreme of estrade!  Cheeky cunning fellow.  Dinner was well served abundance of good food and more champagne and wine than necessary.  Best served dinner of the kind I ever saw - [[underlined]] 2000 members [[underlined]].  Same d.f. [[strikethrough]] Maste [[/strikethrough]] "Toast master" with his cant face

[[underlined]] had to use Megaphone! [[/underlined]] 3/4 of room did not hear speeches at all.  Gautlier the frenchman as well as Hoogewerf the dutchman made themselves ridiculous by unduly [[insertion]] unduly [[/insertion]] long speeches to which nobody listened nor understood.  Sir Wm. Ramsey presided.  Beautiful fireworks afterwards then home by train.
[[margin]] May 29 [[/margin]] At 10 AM. [[came?]] Dr. [[underlined]] Köhler [[/underlined]] ^[[insertion]] chemist [[/insertion]] from Reutgers Werke in my rooms.  showed him samples seemed very interested.  Had to ask Clayton & Coleman to leave me.  They were in my rooms.
At 11:30 Clayton & Coleman [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] came for interviews and to see my sample  Showed them everything and told them all about Bakelite.  In afternoon went to garden party Botanical Garden.  Celine
