Drove home in rain rather tired.

June 2. General meeting.  [[underlined]] Whitelaw Reid [[/underlined]] there made good speech So did [[underlined]] Wiley [[/underlined]] inviting to next Congress.  I observed face of [[underlined]] Nichols [[/underlined]] who seemed to try to find some reason again for finding fault with what Wiley said. -- Business interests! Elected [[underlined]] Nichols [[underlined/]]who seems petulant, and [[underlined]] Morley [[/underlined]] as [[underlined]] President of honor.  Wiley [[/underlined]] behaves like a man and does not seem to be affected altho' I know that the brave man is very much disappointed
Evening went for supper to Trocadero restaurant

with Celine and Dr. Rees of Dupont Powder Co.  Met there Effrout and his wife who came to talk a few minutes with us.
June 3.  Morning went with [[underlined]] Sperry [[/underlined]] to [[underlined]] Greiff's [[underlined/]] office engaged Sperry's services.  meeting with representative of British [[Olizarine?]] Co relative their troubles with one Townsend Cell.

Greiff took us to German Club. very slow affair much time lost in half sleepy way (chge 1 day D.& F. Co.  Evening at Piccadily hotel Dinner of [[underlined]] Takamine,  Elliot, Toch, Wiley, Baskerville, Meffert Prof Rashura and several Japanese [[/underlined]]
