June 26 Very very busy morning writing letters  Lunch with [[underlined]] Oscar Blank [[/underlined]] at Adlon then took [[underlined]] train to his ^formaldehyde^ factory. [[/underlined]] Fine plant, not very large but well situated and well equipped.  Makes mainly alcohol and ^acetic^ acid. gets raw liquids in tanker cars from other places where wood is distilled  Was astonished to see that he makes his [[underlined]] formaldehyde [[/underlined]] in glass apparatuses of which there were about 12 sets in operations!
