July 31. At 8:30 AM Hecht was already in hotel to talk about contract. took no breakfast but drove to Hecht to arrange my samples. Then to [[underlined]] Meffert [[/underlined]] to discuss Patent matters. He game me a creepy feeling when he stated that [[underlined]] each german patent costs about 7000 Marks before it expirerd! Some more creepy feeling when he talked about my limitations of [[/underlined]] trade-mark rights [[/underlined]]. Germany to foreigners only allows same rights as he gets in his own country.
