[[underline]] Aug. 2. [[/underline]] Got up early.  True summer weather today!  Drove to visit Alexander, then V.L.B. then wrote letters and instructions how to use Bakelite.  At 1 P.M. [[underlined]] Weger [[/underlined]] came [[overwrite]] at Hotel with his helper Post and we drove in Motor Cab to [[underlined]] Siemens Halske [[/underlined]] (6 Mks) where I met [[underlined]] Tessel, Dr. Jaeger Dr. von Eichen, Nürnberger  Made some experiments in hot press. but their presses are made for another manufacturing but [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] by waiting long enough succeeded making some simple objects Temperature was too low and cooled off during pressing.  When I met them first there seemed at first some hesitation as to my position with them since they seemed to be left out of syndicate

Their general [[underlined]] equipment for molding seems to me rather primitive, not up to date [[/underlined]].  methods seem rather crude and wasteful of labor have no presses with heated plateens similar as Boonton Co use.  Drove back to Hotel and took supper with Weger at Hotel.  It rains very much but I went out for glass of beer at Tucherbräu
[[underline]] Aug 3 [[/underline]]  Up early and drove to Hecht, reports Dobbles sample of [[underlined]] Hard rubber with Bakelite filler is excellent [[/underlined]] and has good gloss altho contains 75% of Bakelite and only 20% of a mixture of rubber 2 + sulphur 1
Says vulcanized slowly and thinks it could stand double amount of sulphur.  Sample is still flexible but seems rather "dead" "unelastic" to me.  and
