  Here is one of my companions of the evening. 
[[image - black & white sketch of an upside down bat]] Clever little bastard (or is he? - bastard, I mean); and likes to tease. Brushes by past you just about touching you Then whiz! Off like a bullet. I think I'll tame one and adopt it as a pet. Perhaps I ought to train a few of them for a circus. That would be novel and might even help fill the pot in these days of depression.
  Which reminds me. Since next winter looks at best rather uncertain I hope to turn out enough work here so that I ca [[m overwritten with n]] [[strikethrough]] e [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] take [[/insertion]] time off next winter to hustle for the wherewithal. And that's another reason why my stay here is import-
