More dependable and more foresight than any of my men. Am very much disgusted with Lewis he failed in his experiments talked back, showed general ill will and a sour face and looked more slovenly than ever. Had not even washed nor shaved, wore torn clothes and dirty linen. he who to my disgust very often goes under an automobile with a new shirt and stains and spots it hopelessly. I am getting very tired of all this and feel like firing some of those people who give me so little help and so much irritation.

Lewis in his wild drive ran over a dog near Frankfort's. The day ended well, car ran splendidly and I am sure my visitors enjoyed the day. but I feel very tired and am hoarse.
[[underlined]]Friday March 11 [[underlined]] Visit to Springfield, Dickinson Mfg Co. by invitation of Steinberg. Took early train to N.Y there met Weger and Jaeger, Sabersky, Tauk & Tessel. Took Pullman car to Springfield. Fine day. Steinberg led us for lunch to german Restaurant which put whole party in good humor. Then went to his factory a much crowded but very busy building. Showed us everything. Mixes shellac resin, copal and filling
