April 6. Remained home. Let Gotthelf made some experiments with anilin chloride  Am reminded that process is covered by german patent of 1904. Thurlow has worked on it. There seems to be nothing in it. Good lesson not to worry in advance in future. Miss Evans back here so I can dictate letters. Got through most of my belated mail.
April 7. Rhodondendrons and tree planting. Lewis made some A. Some rain in morning at 3 P.M. all planting over. Lewis drove me to Yonkers Station then went to Athletic Club to meet Hasslacher with the men of Siemens & Halske. Then went

to German Verein dinner of Hasslacher. very jovial and cordial affair. [[Hanlacker?]] and Frank discussed relative condition of both countries. Was to late for train so I lodged at German Club 
[[margin]]April 8[[margin]] over night. Next morning had to wait for my clothes until Lewis came with my car.. Took lunch at home. Short nap then Seabury came to tell me had many orders in sight, hoped to use much Bakelite for Rubber. I felt very tired. and dictated many letters. Then Lewis drove me to Station, went to stay at Belmont Hotel one night then to dinner by invitation at Engineers Club offered by ^Henry L. Dougherty^ Mr. Dougherty. met there Pupin, Cooper Herritt, Carlton Ellis, Hunt, Kelly, West, Bradley, Wheeler, Robbins and [[strikethrough]] Moreland [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Ralph Mershon?]]. Decided
