At 3 P.M went to Demuth Bros, pipe manufacturers large office covering two floors from Broadway to Mercer street. Never knew so many pipes were made. Well received. They tell me that pressed amber in slabs is sold to them at $10 [[superscript]] 00 [[superscript]] a lb. f.o b. New York and that the Viennese Bakelite invitation is offered at $5 [[superscript]] 00 [[superscript]] per lb.
