Aug. 27. Sultry weather. Drove to station got envelope back and samples I forgot in train yesterday. Went to see [[underlined]] Hasslacher [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] Dubois [[/underlined]] told them about union in Germany with [[underlined]] Knoll [[/underlined]]. Explained them I continued to write Protal and Boonton and offer [[strikethrough]] them [[strikethrough]] Protal to return their guarantee if they will return contract. Hasslacher very much approves and seems much in favor of this idea. Went for lunch at Mauquins where I met Evans, [[Forster?]] & [[Halernan?]]. Then met [[Brack?]] and Seabury at Peters office. Gave them my arguments for uniting and consolidating. Patterson was there. Both parties seem willing provided proper basis can be found. Brack wants to [[anoint?]] [[Wickham?]] & Peters his other Directors. This is as far as I can go. Went home with afternoon train. Very sultry weather.
