Sept. 28. Hurried thru some letters then at [[overwritten numbers 1 and 2]] [[2?]][[1?]] [[underlined]]30[[/underlined]] P.M. went to meet [[underlined in red]] Peters & Williams [[/underlined in red]] and explain them about letter they had written to me asking me to cancel Paper contract but rearrange first Protal contract so that they may be able to use it in negotiations with Boonton. Told them how difficult it was to change matters at the eleventh hour. How I knew that [[underlined in red]] Hasslacher [[/underlined in red]] was disposed to do all that. How awkward it was for me to change my contract on eve of [[underlined in red]] starting General Bakelite Co. [[/underlined in red]] Peters tells me it is a personal matter with him: He does not desire to be in a position as director of General Bakelite Co to have to decide anything against or in favor of Protal Co. so finally I had to give in. At 2 P.M. meeting of Protal Co. present: [[underlined in red]] Wiechmann, V. Sinderen, Wenzel [[Tahl?]] Walter Damrosch. Benjamin [[/underlined in red]]
