3 P.M. came by Mr. Hammerdorf the son of a friend of Dr. Mohlau. Left him here for about 2 hours then drove him to Dyckman Street. He is with Salomon & Co. 40 Wall Street. before supper. 
Oct. 3. Went first to Selizberg & Co. got [[red underline]] check [[/red underline]] from Hugo [[Selryman?]] for [[red underline]] $11000 [[/red underline]] deposited [[red underline]] 200 shares [[/red underline]] Smelter & refiners went to bank deposited check went to [[red underline]] Van Sinderen [[/red underline]] gave him [[red underline]] check for $11400 for Protal Co. and returned Protal stock relative to Paper Contract. [[/red underline]] Then we canceled both Paper contracts by writing out signatures in end contract and writing the word canceled with signature of Van Sinderen on mine and my signature on his copy Then went to Roesseler Hasselacher's took lunch with Hasselacher, Dubois

and [[Hamner?]] at Drug Club ^[[Drug Club]] submitted samples of pipe stems & cigar holders before deciding which to adopt as samples.  Dubois & Hasselacher both agree with me to start with pale sample. Then went to [[red underline]] DeMuth met Leopold and Lewis and all agree on color. [[/red underline]] Told them about [[red underline]] Bakelite Co. [[/red underline]] Seem satisfied with my results. They will furnish [[red underline]] 1000 cigar holder [[/red underline]] cases at cost price or less for distributing as advertisement Got cigar holder made of dark brown material colored with [[strikethrough]] bib [[/strikethrough]] bichromate.
