Oct. 5. [[underlined]] May [[/underlined]] left last night to visit his father who is dangerously ill.  I left early for New York office. after hurriedly dictating some letters. [[underlined]] At 11 AM meeting of Directors General Bakelite Co. [[/underlined]] Subscriptions came in. Hasslacher subscribed for all what remains. [[underlined]] Jennings, Peters & Williams & Kent with full allotment so did Elston. Peter tells me Protal will [[/underlined]] continue in Bridgeport under management of [[underlined]] Swan. [[/underlined]] This leaves me to provide for another man for Gen. Bakelite Co. Hurried lunch at Drug Club with Creevey & Hasslacher.
