Sept 19.  Dictated all morning then to Perth Amboy with [[red underline]] Takamine[[/red underline]] and Furuta then supper at Chemists Club.
Sept 20.  Busy in lab. until 12 M.  then [[strikethrough]] at 3 P.M. [[/strikethrough]] short nap then at 3 PM to New York office.  Then dinner at Chemists Club for [[red underline]] Japanese dinner at Nippon Club in honor [[/red underline]] of Furuta.  Then train at 11 [[superscript, underlined]] 44 [[/superscript, underlined]] for Toronto with Seabury
Sept 21.  Lunched at Iroquois in Buffalo with Seabury then went over Welland County to [[red underline]] Toronto [[/red underline]]  Pretty landscape

many well kept fruit farms.  Got to King Edward Hotel.  Supper at National Club with Mr. Lyndall & with Parsons.  Much excitement in town on account of election.  Reciprocity with United States defeated and every body in Toronto seems glad of it.  I feel very much disappointed  
Smoker at University building No lights.  Bagpiper and candles for those who want to go to the urinal.  I feel tired and gloomy.
Sept 22.  Train to [[Lambton?]] Golf links.  Miller, Bancroft Seabury etc. played golf while papers
