Oct 11. There all day. Dictating letters and attention to laboratory.

My work is increasing every day and there seems to be no end to it. I begin to feel more and more disgusted with the state of affairs. 
Oct 12. This is Columbus Day but all men present at lab. [[red underline]] Lawrence Byck [[/red underline]] made more [[red underline]] impregnating mixture with Solid A. Naphthalene and Xylol. [[/red underline]] Spent all morning dictating letters.

We find that [[red underline]] discolored pipe stems boiled in citric acid solution become [[/red underline]] again clear in color
