Afternoon got visit of Mr. Middlebrook and his friend Jimmie Burns
December. 1. 1911.
Went with [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] to New York to buy [[underline]] new motor car [[/underline]]. Saw a Winton and a Stearns 
Winton appeals more to me because it is a good car and decidedly cheaper. But George seems to be smitten with the charms of the 1911 Stearns ^[[in pencil: Stearns]] so bought the latter a very fine car very little used, without

a scratch and very complete for 1250$ + my old Stevens Dureya.

[[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] was very happy boy and it pleased me to see him so happy. The boy is really in love with motor cars and intensely concentrates his whole mind on the subject. We took lunch together in the Woodward hotel. Then took him to office, and we came back home together with 6 [[underlined superscript]] 15 [[/underlined superscript]] PM train. I first showed him the Chemists Club. All evening we had motor-talk at home. and everybody seemed glad we had that car.
