Home all day. I wish I could live in a small house with only one servant!
April 7. (Sunday) Sultry sunny weather. then violent rain and windstorm. Remained home all day

Rather irritated at all disorder I am discovering around me and slowness of all things.
April 8. Cold and sunny. [[strikethrough]] Dictated like [[/strikehrough]] Charles did not show up - good for him I would have laid him off anyhow. Lewis helper sneaked

away. Tim not here. I was busy dictating until late. I feel very tired. Then Hageman came and showed me full description of his process for treating seeds, plants and fruit trees with hypochlorous acid or equivalents as a fungicide instead of Bordeaux mixture or Lime - sulphur, formaline and similar products. He had already explained to me the same thing a few days ago. I drew up a sketch of contract between him and Hooker Electochemical Co so as to insure [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] then the use of this process which seems promising.
April 9. Hurried dictating until noon. Revising my address on [[red underline]] Abuses of Patent System [[/red underline]]
