Met Swan there dictating Evening went to eat Shop Soy at a nearby Chinese Restaurant then went to see "Officer 666 a very amusing play.
April 12.

Met Mr. Koll there. Seems to be a rather sleepy crowd Had to explain them advantages of using [[red underline]] bakelite cement [[/red underline]] instead of their glue. Then went with Swan to see the [[red underline]] Kellog [[/red underline]] Co., manufacturer of independent telephones. The manager Mr. Edwards received us very friendly showed us his whole factory. Well equipped and

well conducted. About six stories high.  Seems to be much impressed with Bakelite and affirms will use same much as soon as their new plant is finished.

Short nap. Then afternoon. Mather came to fetch me in his Cadillac Coupé with Hovey and Dr. McCormack of Armour Institute. Drove around boulevards etc. At 6 P.M dinner of Am. Chemical Society at Sherman. Well attended so was the lecture. About 400 present. Showed every kind of attention and appreciation. Long discussion afterwards. Then a little after meeting in café with Brady etc.
Went to bed about one o'clock and got up early next morning. Swan was already packing our exhibits.
