April 23. Townsend at Chemists Club at 11. A.M. conference in hurry. Then [[strikethrough]] met [[/strikethrough]] 
^[[Glenn]] Williams son there to consult Townsend about his silicate patent. All three with Swan took lunch. Celine there too with her committee. Then meeting with Grosvenor in relation to [[red underline]] Patent reform. [[/red underline]] Then office and back home.
April 24. Very busy at home all day. Weaver of Electrical World' phones. I should be in [[red underline]] Washington [[/red underline]] for hearing on [[red underline]] Oldfield bill. [[/red underline]] So [[strikethrough]] jumped in [[/strikethrough]] at 8 P.M. went to New York to catch. B & O train 11 [[superscript, underlined]] 50 [[/superscript, underlined]] P.M for [[red underline]] Washington. [[/red underline]] My restful time all broken up again
April 25. Slept tolerably well on train. Sunny morning. Went

to Shoreham. Then went to [[red underline]] hearing. ^[[Henry]] Doherty. Mershon [[/red underline]] [[strikethrough]] Towle [[/strikethrough]] Leonard there. Some fool Knolton said a lot of nonsense. Then [[red underline]] Leonard. [[/red underline]] All repaired for lunch. with Towle of [[red underline]] Electrical World, Dyke [[/red underline]] of Edison laboratories, Ingersall and a certain Raymond another lawyer who seems to want to run things. Left them about 5 P.M. at Cosmos Club met Wertheim whom I interrogated relative to [[red underline]] German Patent [[/red underline]] Law.
April 26. My hearing this morning. All say I made a hit. Patent [[red underline]] Commissioner Moore [[/red underline]] and his assistants there all seem pleased [[red underline]] except some patent lawyers [[/red underline]]. Lunch at New Willard then took 4 P.M train to New York with Mershon, Leonard
