Then took Subway (fearfully hot) to Chemists Club where very animated supper.  Two frenchmen [[red underline]] Chaillard [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Aulard [[/red underline]] came in.  Took them to a visit to University Club
Sept 7  Slept a few hours. but got up early then to Columbia. to run my meeting of my section.  Lunched at faculty Club with [[red underline]] Prof Cattell [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Sir William Ramsay [[/red underline]] and we went together to [[red underline]] Museum of Natural [[/red underline]]

[[red underline]] History [[/red underline]]. Big room packed. Very inspiring lecture well delivered in english afterwards tea there. Then went to University Club to get some rest. when dressed for reception. Went with [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] to reception of [[strikethrough]] Museum [[/strikethrough]] Metropolitan Art Museum [[/red underline]], were in receiving line and had to shake hands with every one of the thousand and odd visitors. I noticed the [[red underline]] Wiechman's [[/red underline]] broke out when perceiving us. They kept together with the [[red underline]] Zinssers and with [[red  Schweitzer [[/red underline]] seem to have found congeniality together
