Plauts brother died suddenly yesterday.  hence Plaut was not there.  Considerable confusion on starting on account of misdirected printed advice.  [[red underline]] I got [[/red underline]] [[transcript?]] and helped straighten things out.  Very successful trip. Back at 6 P.M.  Went to Chemists Club. There picked up [[red underline]] Dr. Barendrecht of Delft [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Mr. van Leeuwen of Delft [[/red underline]]. The latter is the son of the Burgomaster

Two nice chaps.  remained at University Club for supper with them

President of Chemical division of [[red underline] German Patent Office [[/red underline]] there. [[red underline]] Raschig [[/red underline]] also.  I was much applauded.  [[red underline]] Raschig [[/red underline]] refused to discuss altho' [[argued?]] repeatedly. [[strikethrough]] Lee [[/strikethrough]] Took lunch at Claremont with [[red underline]]  Bancroft [[/red underline]] and some of his section.  Very warm but open weather.  At 4 PM. lecture of [[red underline]] Duisburg [[/red underline]]
