Meeting of Director [[red underline]] of Institute Chemical Engineers.[[/red underline]] There met Frerichs, Olsen and McKenna. They propose [[Gailey?]] for Perkin Medal. Langmuir proposes Cogswell!! McKenna proposes David Wesson. but does not know anything about Dr. [[red underline]] Edward Weston [[/red underline]] whom I proposed -  Nobody knows him. Left for [[red underline]] Inventors Guild dinner at 7 P.M [[/red underline]]

at Delmonicos with Ellis Robbins, Kelly, Bradley, the two Hewitts, Mershon and Leonard there. Very enjoyable evening. Kelly gave us a talk on automatic piano players. Leonard took me home in his auto to van Cortland about midnight.
Oct. 26. Dictated letters all morning. took lunch alone at University Club then motored with Hesse from Chemists Club across river at 130 to Palisade Woods. got off at old ruin of former owners of Vamoose. Beautiful weather. Took supper at some little french restaurant Richard overlooking Hudson, then back to Chemists Club then home
