Nov. 12. Dictated all day until tired, relative to insulation testing, improvements on insulating mixtures etc. Went to New York in afternoon. met [[red underline]] ^[[Glenn]] Williamson [[/red underline]] who asks for letters of introduction to Germany Then conference with Swan, Rossi and [[Gordon?]]

Dark heavy day. Dictated most of day. There seems to be no end to my work.
Nov. 14. Well rested spent most of day writing my presidential Address. [[red underline]] Protecting Intellectual property [[/red underline]]. I am [[red underline 49 years old [[/red underline]] today. I am physically very well but mentally tired and have reached again the point when I am very little interested in my work in fact I am rather uninterested in everything. A good long vacation in entirely other surroundings is what I need
