Aug 19 -Thursday. Went on over [[strikethrough]] good [[/strikethrough]] brushy 
trail to Mad Tom Notch. Light rain fell 
all morning. Reached Bromley Lodge at noon. 
Saw 2 deer near top of Bromley Mtn. 
Thunderstorm at Lodge while I ate lunch. 
Went on to [[strikethrough]] road an [[/strikethrough]] road and went to 
Manchester for food supplies. Back 
on trail went on to Swezey Camp, 
arriving about sundown. Sky cloudy.

Aug 20 -Rained several times during 
night. Sky squally in morning but began 
clearing as I started. Passed Bourne 
Pond about 9:30 (photo). Passed 
Stratton Pond, cooked at Willis Ross 
Camp. Enroute to highway met Englishman, 
father, son, daughter and Fish Warden. 
Continued to Glastenbury Camp. trail 
brushy, marking fair, cooked supper, then 
went on to Fay Fuller Camp, arriving
