Laurie and Bill Bowden accompanied me 
to route 40A and Bill took me home 
where I slept at John's home and next day 
atended the family reunion and later 
was brought bact to the trail at 40A, 
slept near the I-70 footbridge 
which spans the six lane highway
The white painted blaze of the A.T. 
commemorates the axe blaze of the pioneer 
which exposed the light inner bark of a tree.

Talked with local man - gave me a stone 
found at Cape Hattaras - a luck stone
I lived with the sea down under.
Moonshiners made whiskey from their corn
