Large assortment of [[underlined]] phonograph discs [[/underlined]] arrived [[underlined]] from Victor Company [[/underlined]]  Spent most of day [[strikethrough]] lis [[/strikethrough]] trying them until I was tired.
Dec 10.  Fine cold weather  Still [[underlined]] digging at coal [[/underlined]] bin: Tried more phonographs this morning
At 4 P.M went to office to meet [[underlined]] Thurlow [[/underlined]]
to sign application joint patent hexa metylamin [[underlined]] chlorhydrate [[/underlined]].  Thurlow tells me he has found in methyl and [[underlined]] ethyloxialates excellent substitutes for [[/underlined]]

amylalcohol and amylacetate in the making of our lacquers.  Returned with 6:15 P.M. Celine out of bed.  Tried phonographs till late evening.
Dec 11  Have unpleasant cold, feel tired. sore throat & coughing.
Dec 12 Cold better.  Dictated most of day.
Dec 13. Two masons at well (-10◦ C) of coal bin.
