Mr Goodwin brother of the engineer informed me that in Boston and also in all pts of Maine the path of the thunder storm is from a point north of west. Also the paths of tornados the same.
Mr Goodwin other engineer gives the same testimony

Mr Goodwin has promised to furnish me with a drawing and description of a water spout on the gulf observed by himself and Mr Bonsalles
The direction of this was opposite to that of the storms in Maine
A tornado near Portland in Sept 6 the direction was N38W true
