this morning from Adirondacks
Aug 2. Stayed home all day. Lots of noise giggle and fuss. and unnecessary work.
Aug 3 (Sunday) Tried little Buick out. It went well but high speed clutch [[strikethrough]] got [[/strikethrough]] got burned.  Evening drove to Station to buy tickets for Raquette Lake.
Aug 4. Went to N.Y office.  [[underlined]] May [[/underlined]]  and [[underlined]] Swan there.  Usual [[/underlined]] kicks of customers .  Took 1 [[underlined]]30 [[/underlined]]  P.M train to Perth Amboy discussions of [[underlined]] new buildings.[[/underlined]]   Rossi, Foersterling, Gordon, Moore, Dubois there.  All want 18 foot first story.  I wanted 15 or 16 but conceded.  All want 15 feet next stories I want 12 feet finally compromised on 14 feet.

Returned 5:06 P.M. Supper at Chemists Club with [[underlined]] Mr. Hart [[/underlined]]  of Everybody's Magazine who is preparing an article on the patent system  Home 12:30.

Aug 6. Early to meeting of board of [[underlined]] Directors.[[/underlined]] Creevey, Williams, Foersterling and Hasslacher there.  Schleusner acted as Secretary.  Sales [[underlined]] less than last month [[/underlined]] but our annual balance sheet shows about [[underlined]] 80,000 $ for profit [[/underlined]] and loss account or an increase since Jan 1. 1913 of about $70,000. which makes us feel good.
Bought pair moccasins and a poncho for the woods.
