I started off immediately in our Buick, with Nina and Albert.  I driving
Hot weather but fine road  Little Buick ran fine [[underlined]] Found George all smeared [[/underlined]] over with grease oil and dirt, bareheaded, open shirt all greasy and dripping.  Forbade him to race.  He returned home in Young's car, wrapped in newspapers so as not to soil the car.  His mother gave him a good admonition before he went to bed.
I had a full day's driving for the first time since year and I enjoyed it very much

Aug 10.  Very hot weather.  This morning talked [[underlined]] to George [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] not in a scolding [[/strikethrough]] in a friendly way; called his attention to the ever increasing expenses he is submitting me too at a time when my income is greatly reduced and all my securities are much lower than ever before told him about my losses in Mexico, backing up De Mann Loppens, etc.  How for his pleasures I have been very liberal as long as the latter were directed in the right way.
