Nov. 6.  Here all day dictating.  Got letter from Germany telling me about Contract with [[red underline]] Traun.  I am indignant [[/red underline]] at this piece of [[red underline]] clumsy cowardly [[/red underline]] work.  Intend to write them
Nov 7.  Sent two cablegrams one to B.G. and one to Hecht expressing disapproval on that [[red underline]] Traun [[/red underline]] Contract and wrote them a long letter.  Evening took supper at Mouquins' then went to Chemists Club meeting of Gen. Chem. Society 
Home with 12:30 P.M. Rainy chilly weather.
Nov. 8.  After dictating most of morning got the idea of ordering [[red underline]] dictating machine. Telepho- [[/red underline]]

[[red underline]] ned to Edison Co. [[/red underline]] ^[[for use at Snug Rock]]  Afternoon young man came to demonstrate but drums were wrong.  Evening after supper Celine and myself, went to West End Theatre in Harlem to see "The five Frankforters" the history of the Rothshild family.  Very well played.
Nov 9.(Sunday). Edison demonstrator came here with new machine.  Everything seems all right now  I spent all afternoon [[strikethrough]] practising [[/strikethrough]] practising.  Wet windy weather.
Nov. 10.  Very busy all morning.  First real [[red underline]] trial of dictating machine. [[/red underline]] To make matters worse [[red underline]] Miss Evans has bad headache. [[/red underline]] Composed Bill for Senate appointing [[red underline]] patent commission [[/red underline]] which I sent to Dudley to be presented by Senator Leon
