At 11.A.M. second visit of Estabrooke and [[red underline]] Sutherland. [[/red underline]] In my study room. Sutherland tells me he has a process which he invented and conceived before entering [[red underline]] Zinsser's [[/red underline]] service and has Prof. Brown of Cornell as witness. Says his process is different from that described in [[red underline]] Weichmann's [[/red underline]] patent just issued 
Told him would recommend him for position at Royal Baking Powder Co.  Advised him to apply for patent if he had a process of his own for Bakelite and if there was anything good into it he could then later offer it to us or to others on its own merits
He says he is acquainted with patent of Pollak etc.  Says his method avoids use of ammonia.

Clear windy.  Very busy morning with correspondence and finishing touches on testimony. Gotthelf is ready.  
At 2 P.M drove to Cortland thence to office to review samples to be submitted. Then home
Dec. 9.  Up early. clear cold weather  Gotthelf arrived at lab about 7:45 [[strikethrough]] Motored [[/strikethrough]] Samples [[red underline]] for ^[[Nikolas]] trial [[/red underline]] packed and motored to Cortlandt then to Brooklyn Federal Court in Post Office building.
