March 10. Left afternoon to try clothes at the tailor, then went to office. [[red underline]] Hasslacher's [[/red underline]] same condition. Then University Club then took supper Athletic Club with Williamson, Frank Loew, and Lehman talking over difficulties of matrix which is too brittle. Home with 10:45 P.M. train. feel very tired
1914 March 11  [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] left here early with his snowshoes for his cabin in the [[red underline]] Adirondacks. [[/red underline]]  Still cold and frost and snow here. Afternoon went to [[red underline]] Demuth [[/red underline]] who says prefers to pay more for better and more [[strikethrough]] transparent[[/strikethrough]] permanent color bits.  Says color of sample submitted is right. Did not tell him we had succeeded, but told him we were [[continued in left margin written vertically]] making progress and I had no doubt we would succeed.
