June 21. (Sunday) Busy morning writing program for research.  After lunch we all four went out in big car [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] driving through Classon point Ferry to Long Island via College point  Reached Motor Park Way.  Admirable stretch of asphalt road thru woods forty five miles long no speed regulations excellent road.  End is Petit Trianon Inn near Ronkonkoma lake.  All had supper there.  Coming back trouble with motor had

to stop frequently.  Obstruction in carburetor. But enjoyed the trip just as much.  Arrived home at 11:30 P.M. 
June 22.  Some [[red underline]] better orders [[/red underline]] since two days.  Some hope of reaching $20000 this month - but [[red underline]] hope very scant. [[/red underline]] Afternoon went by appointment to office to meet [[red underline]] Wickes [[/red underline]] of [[red underline]] Victor Phonograph Co.  [[/red underline]]  He says his directors have told him to experiment further with Bakelite. and not mind the cost if it gives better results.  This is somewhat contrary of their former position when they told we should make the records cheaper than they are now.  At 5:30 PM went to University Club [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] where met Dr. Schurman of Cornell (President).  Afterwards [[red underline]] Elon Hooker, Bush, [[/red underline]] Gavin Remington and Townsend came and discussed at supper
