Afternoon Parade of 5000 automobile to the World's Fair grounds. Walked [[strikethrough]] around city [[/strikethrough]] in the streets until I got tired. This is the ideal climate for walking.
July 16. took another long walk. This is a real delight walking here. No perspiration.-
Temperature just right and air dry. Afternoon walked up the hill and coming back found myself suddenly in China town. This is now entirely rebuilt. a clean [[strikethrough]] wide street [[/strikethrough]] straight street. All stores new. They are certainly as clean looking stores as those of the main street in Yonkers and the worst is [[strikethrough]] not [[/strikethrough]] as good as the average store of Riverdale Avenue. Everything seems prosperous Some beautiful stores. All chinese have their hair cut short. and most wear american clothes

except for some who wear chinese sandals and chinese dark [[overwritten]] overcoat [[/overwritten]] Wescoat split at the sides. Photoplay theater seems be doing great business. plays are american kind. Two chinese girls dressd ^[[dressed]] in white silk [[strikethrough]] ch [[/strikethrough]] ticket sellers. Women wear most sensible dress I have seen. [[strikethrough]] Trouser and [[/strikethrough]] Cotton or silk trousers and slit blouse on top reaching below knees and sandals. In some of the shops dried shrimps, dried fish, dried cuttlefish, dried entestines etc. Great tendency towards dried articles. Population is now about 10000. The small chinese children with their hair [[strikethrough]] short [[/strikethrough]] cut short and ^[[some]] dressed in american clothes and talking english. Mostly all men I met on street seem prosperous and well dressed. Nothing slovenly on the contrary. I wish [[strikethrough]] most [[/strikethrough]] stores on east side were as neat and well cared for. Altho' I have been walking all day feel not tired
