May first, with the help of the song-sparrow in the maple that sang to me all day and incidentally watched where I put the seeds, I planted the annuals.
Now they are springing to life and beauty-larkspurs, snapdragons, calendulas, calliopsis and poppies.  The poppies were wonderful, myriads lifting their bright faces upward.
